This is just a terminology change for our “Free updates for life” policy that we have had from the very beginning (which was more than 20 years ago, btw) . Nowadays, people are most familiar with the subscription model, so we decided to put our policy in terms that would make more sense to them. Essentially, for a one-time fee, you get lifetime access to the product, which also includes updates and new features.
