Changing a Photo to Black & White

Some of the greatest photos ever taken are in black & white. It adds another dimension to any photo and sometimes improves the look of the photo. With Portraits & Prints, it's easy to change any color photo to black & white - just follow these four easy steps:

1. Select a photo
Click the "Photograph" tab in the main window, then select the photograph you wish to edit in the catalog drawer.

2. Open the Photo Enhancement Panel
Click the “Enhance” icon button on the toolbar or choose “Image Enhancer” from the Window menu. This brings up a floating window called the “Photo Enhancement Panel.”

3. Change Saturation
Move the “Saturation” slider to -100 or click on “Use Preset” and select “Black & White”.

Note: The Presets are Enhancer shortcuts. You can even create your own.

4. Apply Changes
Click on the “Apply” button or mark the check box “Update changes live.”

Note: The Photo Enhancement Panel affects all selected photos. Select multiple photos or all of your photos to perform a "batch" conversion.

That's it!
