Version 1.0.5/WPA
March 16th, 2004
Features:
- Added the Webcam Page Assistant utility program to the product. Provides a simple tool for creating HTML pages to display & auto-refresh your webcam images.
Version 1.0.5
October 24th, 2003
Features:
- Extensively tested to function properly under Mac OS X 10.3 ("Panther").
- Built with GCC 3.3 for performance increases across-the-board.
- Implemented automatic update detections.
- The size and position of catalog windows are now saved with the document and restored when opened (this behavior is controlled under Preferences).
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a problem that occurs when more than one document tries to FTP to the same server at the same time.
- Fixed several bugs related to auto-installing the scripts that are bundled with the application.
Version 1.0.4
January 23rd, 2003
Features:
- Added the ability to disable extended passive mode (EPSV) when communicating with FTP servers. Increases compatibility with some older FTP servers as well as firewalls.
- Improved error reporting (to the activity log) when script execution fails.
- Added the "Frame Canvas" property to the Overlay panel. Previous versions always framed the canvas with a one-point border. Now this can be controlled on a per-document basis.
- Video digitizers will now continue to work after the computer goes to sleep and wakes up.
Bug Fixes:
- Documents saved without a valid video digitizer would be rendered useless when subsequently opened by ImageCaster. A default digitizer is now selected if one is available.
- Configuring the "Launch at login" and "Hide" preference settings will now always work, even if the user has never added startup items (via System Preferences/Login Items).
- Data-fork only AppleScripts will now be correctly executed.
- Text objects in the Overlay panel will no longer disappear if another object is clicked while one is being edited.
- Eliminated an exception that was being raised when a blank path was specified for a pre- or post- delivery script.
- Files and/or URLs may now be dragged to the pathname field of a graphic object selected in the Overlay panel.
- The "Anonymous login" and "Maintain connection between uploads" FTP options can now be accessed/altered via AppleScript.
- Fixed a bug where DV Video images would be cropped if using a buffer size smaller than the video image. Now the image is scaled to fit.
- Fixed a problem with the "Launch at Login/Hide" preference setting whereby toggling the "Hide" setting would sometimes generate an exception and possibly remove the application from the user's startup items entirely.
- Fixed a problem where AM/PM was being displayed on time overlay objects even if the system time was set to 24 hour.
- Fixed a problem where the video digitizer frame buffer size was not being saved with the document.
- File icons now are displayed properly in the FTP browser.
- Fixed a problem where invoking the FTP browser would unnecessarily log into the remote FTP server twice.
- Fixed a bug when browsing an FTP site for a path that would sometimes select a filename and insert it into the path field.
Version 1.0.3
August 26th, 2002
Features:
- Added Frame Buffer size control.
- Provided script access to frame buffer size.
- Extensively tested to function properly under Mac OS X 10.2 ("Jaguar").
- Built with GCC 3.1, Apple's latest, super optimizing Objective-C compiler.
Bug Fixes:
- When graphic objects are overlaid on an image, and the object is dynamically updated from a local file, ImageCaster will deal with situations where the file changes the instant that an image is being extracted from it. Previously, it would just crash.
- The current file deliverer was not being shutdown properly when the user switched to another deliverer in the Destination panel.
Version 1.0.2
August 9th, 2002
- Added control over opacity for text objects.
- Added a "Startup Items" feature. One or more documents, applications or scripts can be automatically opened whenever ImageCaster is launched.
- Added a "Scripts" menu. Scripts located at "~/Library/Scripts/ImageCaster" will appear in this menu. Choosing one launches it.
- Expanded AppleScript support. The already extensive AppleScript support has been expanded. Several "starter scripts" have been included to get you going.
- Added a user interface for specifying the pre- and post- execution of scripts or applications. The specified scripts will be executed immediately prior to and/or after an image upload occurs.
- Fixed a problem with creation/renaming/deletion of temporary files while uploading to certain types of FTP servers.
- Improved support for digitizers with a high "wake-up" latency.
- Various drag-n-drop bug fixes.
- Confirmed Mac OS X 10.2 ("Jaguar") compatibility.
- Updated the Help Center and PDF manual.
The following scripts were introduced in this release:
- Cam Spam - Generates an email containing your webcam image so you can announce your webcam to friends and family.
- Headliner - Creates a headline text object using the text message you specify. Allows you to quickly modify the headline while keeping your webcam "live".
- Quick Quit - Quits the program quickly, automatically saving all modified webcam documents.
- Embed Temperature - Creates a text overlay object that displays the current temperature based on your zip code.
- Update Temperature - Scans all text objects looking for ones created by the Embed Temperature script and refreshes them with the current temperature.
The ImageCaster Scriptor's Kit was also released in conjunction with v1.0.2.
Version 1.0.1
June 20th, 2002
- Fixed a simple problem introduced at the last second while building v1.0. Selection of multiple video digitizers wasn't working correctly. Otherwise, identical to v1.0.
