What cameras work with ImageCaster?

Any Digital Video firewire camera , iSight, and all webcams that have a Mac OS X driver. Try out the demo first to make sure your camera is compatible. I cannot get my camera to work with ImageCaster.

This can be a problem with the camera, driver, or ImageCaster so you have to eliminate each one. Go to the Source Panel and set "Import from" to Video Digitizer. Under Video Source select your camera from the pop-up.If it is not listed then you probably need to install a driver. If it is listed, click on the settings button and view the live preview. If the image is still or blank then quit ImageCaster and try again. If the preview is live you should be OK. Some drivers will lock up and require that the Settings be checked to unlock the driver.

Can I still use my Mac while I run a webcam from it?

Yes. Better yet, have ImageCaster launch at startup and hide so you don't even have to worry about it. With Panther you can even switch users and ImageCaster will continue to upload images.

ImageCaster won't upload my images to my website.

This can mean a lot of things depending on your destination. Here are a few things to try.
From the Destination Panel:
Choose "Test Connect" from the Actions menu.
Click on the Browse button to verify the path and connection.
Make sure "Maintain Connection" is checked.
Try EPSV checked and unchecked.
If using FTP Secure switch to "SSH Version 1".
Some servers will not accept Secure uploads so you may have to use FTP.

ImageCaster stops uploading.

First check that your camera is still active. You can do this from the Overlay Panel or Monitor Panel (Live image). If your camera is not working then go to the Source Panel and click on the Settings button. This should get the camera working again. If your Camera is working but not uploading, check your settings in the Destination Panel.

The "Reset video every __ seconds" feature in Preferences is a good option to use if your camera begins to work after going into the Settings window. This feature will reset your video digitizer based on the time you specified.
