With Portraits & Prints you add your photos to a CATALOG and print them on a TEMPLATE. A Catalog is a double-clickable document where you select your photos, select your template, and print. Please note that a Catalog only links to your photos and any enhancements made do not effect the original photo. The original is left untouched. A Template is a page layout for a specific size of paper. You can download hundreds of free templates using the Template Manager or you can create your own. However, a template is a lot more than a photo layout; it can contain any kind of text and graphics so you can print your photos any way you want.

Selecting templates and printing photos is very easy. Creating new templates and editing templates can be more involved. Below is a list of template creation tools available when editing or creating new templates. For complete instructions on how to use the tools listed, consult the online help, check out the tips, and read the manual.

VERY IMPORTANT TEMPLATE TIP

If you need to make a change to a template but want to keep the original template, then simply select the template from the Template Manager window and duplicate the template. Now rename the template and make the change. That way you do not have to create the template from scratch and you will still have the original template. This will make creating templates a lot easier.
