Using ChronoSync and MobileMe Together.
If you are using MobileMe to synchronize data between two Macs, you should NOT use ChronoSync to synchronize that same data. Synchronizing using both utilities could lead to possible deletions and duplications.
Exclude the folders listed below if you are syncing any of the same data using MobileMe.
You can stop ChronoSync from synchronizing any data that is included in the target by excluding it. To exclude a file or a folder with all its contents, highlight the particular file or folder in the Analyze view and choose "Exclude" from the Actions menu. An exclusion is denoted by an "X" in the status column and means that the file or folder will be skipped during the synchronization process.
- If you are syncing Bookmarks in MobileMe, exclude the "Safari" folder located under Home/Library when setting up your Synchronizer document.
- If you are syncing Calendars (iCal) in MobileMe, under PANTHER and LEOPARD, exclude the "Calendars" folder located under Home/Library when setting up your Synchronizer document. Under TIGER, exclude the "iCal" folder located under Home/Library/Application Support when setting up your Synchronizer document.
- If you are syncing Contacts in MobileMe, exclude the "AddressBook" folder located under Home/Library/Application Support when setting up your Synchronizer document.
- If you are syncing Dashboard Widgets in MobileMe, exclude the "Widgets" folder under Home/Library when setting up your Synchronizer document.
- If you are syncing Dock Items, exclude the "com.apple.dock.plist" preference file in Home/Library/Preferences when setting up your Synchronizer document.
- If you are syncing Keychains, exclude the "Keychains" folder located under Home/Library when setting up your Synchronizer document.
- If you are syncing Mail settings, exclude the "Mail" folder located under Home/Library when setting up your Synchronizer document.
- If you are syncing Notes, exclude "StickiesDatabase" located under Home/Library when setting up your Synchronizer document.
- If you are syncing Preferences, exclude "Preferences" located under Home/Library when setting up your Synchronizer document.
